Iceland’s natural attractions such as Vatnajökull National Park.
Iceland is known for its spectacular natural attractions that attract tourists from all over the world every year. The most famous attractions include the large glaciers, such as Vatnajökull, the largest glacier in Europe, and Sólheimajökull, which can be experienced up close, for example, on glacier hikes. The country’s many waterfalls, such as Gullfoss or Seljalandsfoss, are also very popular attractions.
Another famous Icelandic natural attraction is the Strokkur geyser, which shoots boiling water into the air every 5 to 8 minutes. ‘Strokkur’ is part of the well-known Golden Circle, a popular tourist route that also includes the impressive Þingvellir National Park and Gullfoss waterfall.
Iceland is also a hotspot for geothermal energy, resulting in amazing natural phenomena such as hot springs and geothermal pools. The most famous is the world-famous Blue Lagoon, which is visited by many tourists, but there are also many lesser-known geothermal pools and spas such as Mývatn Nature Baths or Laugarvatn Fontana Geothermal Baths.
Other notable natural attractions in Iceland include Vatnajökull National Park, Jökulsárlón Glacial Lake, Dimmuborgir Lava Fields and Reynisfjara Black Beach.
